Scotmid Co-operative is Scotland's largest independent
co-operative employing around 5,000 people in nearly 350 retail
outlets in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England.
Scotmid is made up of a number of businesses. It has
around 190 food stores across Scotland of which the vast majority
are food convenience stores situated at the heart of Scottish
communities.
It also owns Semichem, a chain of over 140 discount health and
beauty stores which are situated in most high streets across
Scotland as well as in Northern Ireland and the north of
England.
Additionally we recently launched a new venture, The Fragrance
House, offering prestige fragrances which now has seven
stores in shopping centres throughout Scotland.

Scotmid Co-operative Funeral Directors operates eight branches
throughout the central belt of Scotland with a history that
stretches back almost 100 years.
Scotmid also has a Property Division which has an extensive
portfolio of both commercial and residential properties.
The Society is owned, managed and governed in Scotland and as a
co-operative is democratically controlled by its members.
All of this has been achieved while still strongly adhering to
Scotmid's governing co-operative values and principles.
