Scotmid would like to see its members become actively involved within the Society.
Membership gives you an opportunity to play a role whether by
attending members' meetings or being elected to serve on a Regional
Committee.
Here are the ways of getting more involved:
1. Attend the Society's members' meetings (AGM and
OGM)
You may attend members meetings by presenting your share book.
Only members who have held a minimum shareholding of £1 for a
period of 6 calendar months before the date of the meeting will be
eligible to attend and vote at members' meetings.
2. Join an Active Members Group
You may be interested in Fairtrade, how a co-operative is run,
the environment, members' activities and making a difference in
your local communiy. Participation can act as a stepping stone to
becoming part of our Regional Committee and Board.
3. Get nominated and elected onto a Regional
Committee
If you are interested in serving on a Regional Committee, you
must have been a member of the Society for one year at time of
nomination and hold £25 in your share capital account.*
4. Get nominated and elected onto the Society's Board of
Directors
Once you are a Regional Committee member and have completed
certain training courses, you are eligible to be nominated for the
Board.*
